Spoony has Left Channel Awesome

One of my favorite online reviewers Noah Antwiler aka "The Spoony One" has left Channel Awesome & ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com. Not sure about the details but its still a shock considering he was one of their most popular reviewers.

The real shock for me has been watching everything unfold on Twitter.

My non-conformist side raises a fist in the air against the system, while the business owner side of me can sorta understand the dangers of a wild card in regards to advertisers.

Either way, I wish him the best in whatever he ends up doing with this.

I'm surprised by this too, was he fired or did he leave? Wasn't Distressed Watcher the only other one to be fired? Maybe Spoony is going to focus on his own site and expand it more?

Well no, from what I gather Spoony accrued a 4 week suspension for god knows what over at TGWTG, and that led to public speculation that it was over a shock sex joke that he had made about "If her and her bf broke up, he'd chain JesuOtaku to a pipe in his basement and love her, his way."
Of course Lupa and others jumped on that and it started huge arguments on Twitter, and he mostly told everyone to "fuck off" and other shit, leading to him not being a part of TGWTG anymore.

The post from TGWTG however, states that they were "going separate ways" and that Spoony had not left due to offending other producers or people, but who knows. TGWTG likes to cover up things of that nature it seems.

So in my eyes, there's a couple things that could be going on.
1. Spoony's having a meltdown (the popular theory)
2. Spoony got sick of dealing with TGWTG and wanted freedom (what I suspect)
3. Some shit happened that's being covered up that goes way deeper than all of this. (what is probably happening)

Basically, he made a REALLY SILLY rape joke about JessuOtaku on twitter, who ignored it.
And then a month or so after that, Lupa dug up the tweet and presented it to the PR person on TGWTG, getting Spoony suspended. Then Lupa and Phelous slandered Spoony, Spoony retaliated, and Spoony was fired shortly after. Apparently Lupa has flat out never been a fan of Spoony, and has taken note of his depression, and this was the reason she used for burying Spoony with the tweet he made about Otaku.

I don't care how many people say that it was the PR's decision and that it has nothing to do with Lupa.
Because it has EVERYTHING to do with Lupa. Lupa is friends with Spoony's ex for one. Spoony's ex who flipped out on him, cheated on him, and dumped him. I can say this with complete confidence, I hope TERRIBLE fucking things happen to Lupa and Phelous. Lupa especially, being one of the least watched TGWTG contributors that she is, deserves to be fucking water boarded for trying to create leverage for herself through these bullshit backstage politics.

I never thought that internet reviewing would have a Madison Square Garden curtain call incident. But something good may come out of that, Spoony becoming a black sheep may very well cause him to be absolutely driven, much like Paul 'TRIPLE H' Levesque was in the mid 90's after being left holding the ball for his clique friends, and through this drive, I hope Spoony gets even more fans and even more support than the immense amount that he already has.

The best part about all this though, JessOtaku never said A WORD about it, and Spoony had cautiously already apologized for the tweet long before this fiasco. As far as I'm concerned, if JessOtaku had nothing to say to PR about it, then Spoony had no reason to be fired.

It seems like things are starting to become something of a small pr nightmare either way. I am sure spooney will pull out of this just fine. I am pretty sure he had his own thing going on way before he started working with tgwtg. The saddest part maybe his working relationship with other members of that network and their affiliates. I would hate to see him blackballed off of doing his own stuff and working with whatever friends he had on that site.

Also Thomas has to edit out tons of super offensive shit I say on The Game Case all the time. I get a talking to every time we record haha. Apparently I am the only one who thinks "My father fucked me" jokes are funny. I think he worries about youtube pulling us off to much lol. Regardless I think it is wrong to get in trouble for saying shit that is offensive. Like how many of them have made rape or murder jokes on TGWTG.com? I got pretty angry when Lupa became a part of channel awesome. I applied three times, I know for a fact that my stuff was at the time better than her's (after three rejection letters I gave up.) Personally, I think getting rid of Spoony was the worst mistake channel awesome ever made. Lupa should have gotten the can because she started the bs in the first place.

I've heard a bunch of stuff about the whole Spoony meltdown fiasco and was also watching it explode on Twitter, but I caught the tail end of it. I'm not a fan of Lupa, just cuz I think there are so many "shitty movie reviewers" on the site as it is and I don't find her funny, but Spoony is my #1 reviewer out there right now. But Spoony definitely had some issues of his own that he couldn't really separate from the site, it would seem, so maybe this break will be better for both sites and everyone involved. But yeah, Lupa started that shit, regardless of what she or any of her supporters say, and she got kinda petty with the insults at times too.

What confuses me is why such a fuss was made over a joke which I didn't think was that offensive ( in all honesty I've made the same joke about wanting to chain Johnny Depp in my basement and give him sweet loving) I could understand if JO was offended and complained to Channel Awesome but why did any other reviewers on the site feel the need to get involved? Especially when far worse jokes are made on the site I mean there's a sketch where the guy with glasses jokes about raping his dead children's corpses for goodness sake and I don't see any of the other reviewers getting on his case about it. Or when Marzgirl reviewed the land before time series and made homophobic remarks why wasn't she chastised by reviewers? Why are people in arms over this?

In other words, in order for peace and harmony to exist between all beings, there can be no negative things said by anyone.

You can see how big something this small can get, just by imagining how it feels to have someone tell you that you can't say something.
